DALLAS (AP) – The attorney for Baylor guard LaceDarius Dunn says the university has suspended the star guard from attending classes amid allegations that he hit his girlfriend during a domestic dispute.
Attorney Vikram Deivanayagam (VICK’-rum dee-vun-AYE-gum) said Thursday night that the university was following procedure for a student facing a felony charge.
The attorney said it was too early to tell whether Dunn would miss the rest of the semester, which would sideline him for the first part of the season. The leading scorer for one of last season’s NCAA regional finalists was suspended by the team last week.
Police say Dunn’s girlfriend had her jaw broken in two places. She says Dunn didn’t hit her. Dunn faces a felony aggravated assault charge.
