PITTSBURGH (AP) - Duquesne basketball coach Ron Everhart was released from the hospital Thursday, three days after having a small portion of his colon removed. Everhart had the operation at Mercy Hospital on Monday, and remained hospitalized until Thursday to make sure no infection or unexpected post-surgery problems developed. The 45-year-old Everhart expects to resume his duties immediately. He had problems last season with diverticulitis, a digestive disorder in which small growths in the colon can become painful when inflamed. The condition forced him to miss one game after he was admitted to a hospital on Christmas Day. |
