KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A person close to the situation says that former Memphis forward Dominic Woodson is transferring to Tennessee.
The source said that Woodson should be in class at Tennessee’s Knoxville campus on Thursday and that it remained up in the air whether he’d seek a waiver to avoid sitting out the 2014-15 season. The source spoke on the condition of anonymity because Tennessee hasn’t announced Woodson’s addition.
Memphis announced last week that Woodson was transferring. Woodson, who is 6-foot-10, played 20 games and averaged 2.5 points and 1.9 rebounds for Memphis as a freshman last season.
Tennessee has been seeking to add a post player since losing Jarnell Stokes and Jeronne Maymon from a team that reached a regional semifinal in March.
