BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – Indiana coach Tom Crean is throwing opponents a change-up.
He’s willing to play old-school small ball, and he’s still working out the details. The first real test of this new-look team comes next month when the Hoosiers travel to Montreal for five games in six days.
Crean isn’t making evaluations based on wins or losses. Instead, he’s looking for team chemistry, to see how players respond to challenges and which players are best equipped to excel offensively and defensively.
Indiana wants to change course after finishing a dismal season that kept them out of the postseason and prompted Crean to say Tuesday he might have booed himself in some situations last season, too.
