LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) – Andrew Wiggins is already on campus at Kansas. He’s already turning heads, too.
The most highly decorated recruit to arrive at the school in decades set message boards ablaze last week when video surfaced of his dunk over NBA center Cole Aldrich. It happened in a game involving current and former players during coach Bill Self’s basketball camp.
Self has said that professional autograph seekers have already descended upon Lawrence to snag photos and autographs from Wiggins, and acknowledged the attention that accompanies him is unprecedented.
But Self also admits that the 6-foot-7 forward has the kind of rare athletic ability to make almost impossible expectations appear to be achievable.
Wiggins will have a chance to prove it starting in four short months.
