ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) – Michigan basketball has signed 6-foot-10 German forward Moritz Wagner to a letter of intent.
The team said Friday that Wagner will join the Wolverines for the 2015-16 academic year.
Michigan coach John Beilein says Wagner has a great understanding of the game and has played against opponents significantly older than he is. Wagner just turned 18.
Beilein says Wagner’s skill and athleticism will eventually allow him to play multiple positions for Michigan.
The Wolverines were 16-16 last season, 8-10 in the Big Ten.
