INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Utah State athletic director Scott Barnes has been chosen as the NCAA Division I basketball committee chairman for 2014-15.
He's already on the committee and will spend this season as the vice chairman to Wake Forest athletic director Ron Wellman.
Barnes played basketball at Fresno State and went on to play professionally in Germany, then began his coaching career at the high school and club levels. He also served as general manager of the Fresno Flames of the World Basketball League.
Eventually, he made stops as an athletic administrator at San Diego, Pacific, Iowa State, Humboldt State, Eastern Washington and Washington before landing his current job at Utah State, where he's spent the past five seasons.
