BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – Freshman Jeremiah April has decided to transfer from Indiana, coach Tom Crean said Friday.
The 6-foot-11 center battled injuries all last season and played in only four games, averaging 1.5 points.
Crean says April is looking for a school where he will get more playing time and that Indiana couldn’t give that assurance.
He’s the third player from last season’s roster to announce he would be leaving Indiana. Freshman forward Max Hoetzel and sophomore guard Stanford Robinson decided to change schools in March.
April’s decision keeps Indiana at the NCAA scholarship limit for men’s basketball.
