SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (AP) -Seton Hall forward Herb Pope has reportedly been taken to a hospital after collapsing during an afternoon workout at the school.
The Star-Ledger of Newark reported that Pope collapsed Wednesday and was rushed to Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.
Sports information director Matt Sweeney told The Associated Press in a telephone interview Wednesday night “that a student-athlete was taken to a hospital.”
Citing privacy laws, Sweeney would not identify the athlete or comment on the person’s condition.
Quoting two sources, the newspaper said that Pope was undergoing tests to determine what happened.
Pope announced he was entering the NBA draft. However, he did not hire an agent, leaving open the possibility he might return next season.
