LAS VEGAS (AP) – The 5-year-old namesake grandson of Hall of Fame basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian is recovering at home after a stroke left him hospitalized over the weekend.
The young boy’s father said he was released from University Medical Center on Monday and will now start rehab with a home nurse.
The stroke was discovered after the child complained of pain in his legs and was taken to the hospital early Friday.
Danny and Amy Tarkanian say their son has never had health issues.
Danny Tarkanian is a former Republican congressional candidate and Amy Tarkanian is a political commentator and former Nevada GOP chairwoman. The boy’s grandmother Lois Tarkanian is a Las Vegas city councilwoman.
The elder Jerry Tarkanian, who led UNLV to a national title in 1990, died in February.
