INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The NCAA plans to investigate a possible point-shaving scheme at the University of San Diego after the FBI wraps up its work.
NCAA vice president of enforcement Julie Roe Lach says the governing body was informed by FBI officials before indictments were unsealed Monday.
Among the 10 people facing charges are Brandon Johnson, the school’s all-time leading scorer who finished his college career last year, former assistant coach Thaddeus Brown and ex-player Brandon Dowdy.
Johnson, 24, is accused of taking a bribe to influence a San Diego game in February 2010 and soliciting someone else this January to affect the outcome of additional games.
