MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) – South Florida native Frank Martin says he has not heard from the University of Miami, which is looking for a new coach.
Martin was the 2010 Big 12 coach of the year at Kansas State. He tells The Associated Press that he has been approached by several other schools the past two years with significant pay increases.
Martin said his salary this year under terms of a five-year deal is $1.1 million, not the $1.55 million that’s been widely reported.
Martin also says he and his family love Kansas State and have no desire to leave. But he also says he will always listen to other offers.
Martin is a native of Miami and was a successful high school coach there.
The Miami job came open last week when Frank Haith left for Missouri.
