DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -Sophomore point guard Stephen Thomas has decided to transfer from the University of Dayton.
Coach Brian Gregory said Tuesday that Thomas, who averaged just 2.0 points in 29 contests last season, has decided to look for a school where he'll get more playing time during his final two years of college eligibility.
The 6-foot-1 Thomas also averaged 1.3 rebounds and 0.8 assists during the 2008-09 season.
His departure will leave Dayton with four returning starters and 10 of its top 11 players from last year's 27-8 team that reached the second round of the NCAA tournament.
