INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -When Ronald Nored decided to go to Butler, his friends back in Alabama were a tad confused.
Where exactly was Butler, they asked? Was it even a Division I school?
No one’s asking those questions these days.
The tiny school is the biggest thing going in college basketball right now. With 4,200 students, Butler is the smallest school to play for the NCAA title since the field expanded to 64 teams in 1985, and fourth-smallest ever. Just about everyone wants a spot on the Butler bandwagon before Monday night’s national title game against Duke, and the Bulldogs and their longtime fans are more than happy to make room.
