HOUSTON (AP) – Kemba Walker got his points. He got some help, too.
The combination gives Connecticut a chance at its fourth national title.
Walker labored his way to 18 points and UConn got big contributions from his supporting cast to beat Kentucky 56-55 Saturday night in the national semifinals.
Breathing heavy throughout the final minutes, Walker finished 6 of 15 from the floor to go with seven assists and six rebounds.
Freshman Jeremy Lamb provided a lift with 12 points, Alex Oriakhi snared 10 rebounds and Shabazz Napier hit the clinching free throws with 2 seconds left after grabbing a big rebound, sending Connecticut (31-9) into Monday’s NCAA title game against Butler.
