SEATTLE (AP) – Washington guard Isaiah Thomas says he’ll put his name in the NBA draft but will not hire an agent at this time.
Thomas made the announcement Thursday after helping Washington reach the third round of the NCAA tournament.
The two-time all-Pac-10 first-team selection says he is thankful for having played for the Huskies and coach Lorenzo Romar. Thomas says he has two quarters left to finish his degree and intends to finish school.
Romar, in Houston at the Final Four, says in a statement that Thomas had an “unbelievable impact” on the program and supports his decision.
Thomas was an honorable mention AP All-American selection after averaging 16.8 points and 6.1 assists for the Huskies.
