EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) – Hundreds of Michigan State University students and fans have gathered at the team’s home basketball arena to celebrate the victory that sent them to the Final Four of the NCAA men’s tournament.
The team’s seniors and coach Tom Izzo addressed the Breslin Center crowd Sunday. Travis Trice said, ”We’re not done yet.”
Earlier, hundreds of people had gathered outside an off-campus apartment complex. East Lansing police said 10 people were arrested. The Detroit News said the crowd set sweatshirts on fire nearby.
The gathering was in the Cedar Village area, site of many previous disturbances linked to Michigan State sports performances. Many police were deployed in the area Sunday.
The Spartans beat Louisville 76-70 in overtime to advance to the Final Four for the first time since 2010.
