Washington Wizards guard John Wall is enjoying his first season in the NBA, but the former Kentucky star still thinks about what could have been with the Wildcats.
Wall is one of five Kentucky players who opted to leave school early following last year’s 35-3 run that ended with a loss in the regional finals to West Virginia.
Wall says watching his former team make the Final Four for the first time in 13 years has energized him, but he wonders what would have happened had he returned for his sophomore year.
The Wildcats play Connecticut on Saturday for a spot in the national title game, a run they’ve made in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year.
Wall says he hopes Kentucky “wins it all” and called his season at the school one of the best experiences of his life.
