INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -Butler’s Gordon Hayward has produced wins in every way possible.
His buzzer-beater won a high school state championship. His well-timed steal preserved a second-round NCAA tournament win over Murray State. His shooting led the Bulldogs past Kansas State and into the Final Four, and it may help him become the first Butler player to reach the NBA.
You’d never know from talking to the laid-back sophomore with the aw-shucks personality.
Hayward hasn’t been fazed by his success or that of the surprising Bulldogs, who will all get to experience something new Saturday when they face Michigan State in the national semifinals – playing in front of 70,000 fans.
And Hayward is eager to share this experience with his teammates.
