 BOSTON (AP) -Pittsburgh starting guard Jermaine Dixon left the East Regional final just 16 seconds into the second half when a Villanova player fell on him as they went for a loose ball Saturday.
The play occurred near the Panthers' basket when Dixon and three Villanova players went to the floor for the ball. Shane Clark landed on his left leg and Dixon was replaced by Brad Wanamaker with Pitt leading 34-32.
Dixon had two points in the game, both on free throws. The junior entered the game averaging 8.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per game this season.
