HOUSTON (AP) – Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak (krist-KOH’-vee-ak) sat down on the podium Thursday and introduced himself before taking questions.
Asked why he didn’t just say Coach K, as his players refer to him, the coach knew it could be confusing before this NCAA Sweet 16 matchup.
Krystkowiak’s Utes (26-8) play Friday night in Houston against the more well-known Coach K, four-time national champion Mike Krzyzewski (shuh-SHEF’-skee) and top-seeded Duke (31-4) in the South Regional.
This is Duke’s 22nd Sweet 16 appearance under Krzyzewski. Utah is in its first Sweet 16 in 10 years.
