CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -Virginia’s suspended leading scorer Sylven Landesberg is leaving school.
Coach Tony Bennett said Tuesday that Landesberg won’t complete the current semester. Earlier this month the sophomore guard was suspended for the rest of the season for failing to meet his academic obligations.
Landesberg was the ACC’s top rookie last season. He led Virginia this season with averages of 17.3 points and 2.9 assists.
It marks the latest shakeup for the Cavaliers. Bennett announced Monday that freshman swingman Tristan Spurlock wouldn’t return by mutual agreement. Earlier this season forward Jamil Tucker was dismissed for academic reasons and guard Calvin Baker left the team because of an ill family member.
