SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Sixth-seeded Baylor and No. 11 seed Nebraska is an NCAA tournament meeting of two teams that were practically written off two months ago.
The Bears and Cornhuskers are surging entering their second-round game Friday. Baylor (24-11) has won 10 of its last 12 and Nebraska (19-12) ended the season winning 10 of its last 13.
Both are huge turnarounds for teams that were a combined 2-11 in conference play in late January. Nebraska coach Tim Miles said Thursday he wouldn't have bet on his Cornhuskers making the tournament following a 1-5 start in the Big Ten.
Baylor ripped through the Big 12 tournament before falling in the championship to Iowa State. Nebraska is out for its first tournament win in school history and hasn't been to this stage since 1998.
