SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -Michigan State guard Chris Allen is struggling with an arch injury and his ability to play against Maryland in the second round of the NCAA tournament is in question.
Michigan State coach Tom Izzo said Allen did not practice on Saturday, and that the arch injury may bench him for Sunday’s game. The decision may wait until game time.
Izzo said Allen, who is Michigan State’s top 3-point threat, wanted to go back into the game against New Mexico State after he was hurt Friday, and wants to play Sunday. But he said an arch injury limits a player’s ability to run and jump, and cannot easily be taped.
