CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -Clemson basketball coach Oliver Purnell has agreed to a two-year contract extension through 2014.
Purnell took over for the Tigers in 2003. He has a record of 94-67, including a school-record 49 wins during the past two years.
The Tigers finished third in the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season, and upset Duke in the tournament semifinals before losing to No. 1 North Carolina in the championship game Sunday.
Clemson plays Villanova in the first round of the NCAA tournament Friday night.
