LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -Friendship is a beautiful thing.
For top-seeded Kansas, the close bond between two players with vastly different backgrounds might even be a decisive factor in the crowning of an NCAA champion.
Sherron Collins is a gritty point guard from a tough Chicago neighborhood. Cole Aldrich is a towering, shot-blocking center from Minnesota. They seemed to hit it off the first day they became teammates at Kansas.
Their closeness deepened last spring when both were considering whether to go early into the NBA draft. But they talked it over and decided to stick around and now they are the biggest stars on the overall No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
