OLEAN, N.Y. (AP) – The St. Bonaventure men’s basketball team has accepted an invitation to compete in the College Basketball Invitational postseason tournament.
The school announced its acceptance Saturday, a day before the 16-team field and schedule will be unveiled. This will mark the Bonnies’ first postseason appearance since earning an NIT bid in 2002. And it comes after a 16-14 finish, the program’s first winning record since a player eligibility scandal in 2003 led to NCAA sanctions.
The Bonnies are led by junior forward Andrew Nicholson. The Atlantic 10 Conference first-team selection averages 20.8 points per game, 15th in the nation.
