RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -Tyler Hansbrough of North Carolina became the third player in Atlantic Coast Conference history to be unanimously selected three times to the All-ACC team
Hansbrough joins North Carolina State's David Thompson (1973-75) and Duke's Art Heyman (1961-63).
Virginia's Sean Singletary was also picked to the first team for the third time. The pair are the 24th and 25th three-time first-teamers in league history and first since Maryland's Juan Dixon in 2002.
Hansbrough is the ACC's leading scorer (23.1 points) and rebounder (10.5), guiding the top-ranked Tar Heels (29-2, 14-2) to the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament this week.
If he returns for his senior season, Hansbrough could become the first player in league history to make the first team four times.
Also making the first team were Boston College's Tyrese Rice, Duke's DeMarcus Nelson and Miami's Jack McClinton.
Duke's Kyle Singler joined Wake Forest's James Johnson and N.C. State's J.J. Hickson as unanimous picks on the all-freshman team.
The selections were made by 90 writers and broadcasters in the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.
