ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) – Back in October, there was talk that Michigan might be the worst team in the Big Ten.
Now, the Wolverines have a legitimate chance to reach the NCAA tournament thanks to talented point guard Darius Morris. Morris is one of the country’s most improved players. He’s averaging a team-high 15.1 points and 6.8 assists and is at the center of everything Michigan does offensively.
The 6-foot-4 Morris is a bit of an anomaly in coach John Beilein’s offense because he doesn’t shoot that well from 3-point range. With his ball-handling and ability to score around the basket, he’s making an impact without shooting much from the perimeter.
