CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -Injuries are lingering over Sunday’s game between No. 2 North Carolina and No. 7 Duke.
North Carolina point guard Ty Lawson didn’t practice Saturday after injuring his left big toe during Friday’s practice. Lawson left practice Friday with the aid of a crutch and had precautionary X-rays, which showed no fracture. The school says the team is hopeful Lawson will play.
Meanwhile, Duke said forward Lance Thomas is probable after practicing Saturday despite a sprained left ankle against Florida State. Point guard Nolan Smith will miss a third straight game as he recovers from a concussion.
The Tar Heels can win the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season title outright with a victory, while the Blue Devils can earn a share of it with a win.
