WACO, Texas (AP) – A grand jury has declined to indict Baylor guard LaceDarius Dunn, effectively ending the assault case against him.
Abel Reyna, the new McLennan County district attorney who inherited the case, said additional evidence was presented to the grand jury, which made its decision Thursday.
Dunn’s attorney, Vik Deivanayagam (vick dee-vun-AYE’-gum), says Dunn has been exonerated.
Dunn, Baylor’s career leading scorer, missed the first three games after he was arrested and accused of breaking his girlfriend’s jaw in September. The woman, LaCharlesla Edwards, the mother of Dunn’s young son, disputed police accounts and had asked that charges be dropped.
