LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – Louisville is planning a “white out” for Sunday’s visit from No. 4 Pittsburgh. The Cardinals point out the color choice isn’t a symbol of surrender.
The 16th-ranked Cardinals (21-7, 10-5) are one of the Big East’s biggest surprises. Picked to finish eighth in the preseason coaches’ poll, Louisville is tied for third with a week to go in the regular season.
Coach Rick Pitino says his team is reaching its potential, but allows it’s not quite in Pittsburgh’s class.
The Panthers (25-3, 13-2) have won six of seven and are closing in on the Big East regular season title. Pitino called Pittsburgh the most fundamentally sound team in the country.
