WASHINGTON (AP) – Georgetown is hopeful that injured guard Chris Wright will recover from surgery on his broken left hand in time to help the No. 11 Hoyas in the NCAA tournament.
The senior hurt his hand during a 54-46 loss to Cincinnati on Wednesday night. He had surgery the following day to repair the third metacarpal on his non-shooting hand, and was already doing rehabitliation work on Friday.
While the Hoyas hope to get Wright back before the end of the season, they’ll have to press on without their top playmaker and second-leading scorer.
Georgetown is 21-7 overall and 10-6 in the Big East, tied with Syracuse for fifth place.
