 OREM, Utah (AP) -Ryan Toolson scored 23 points and had five assists to lead Utah Valley to a 77-72 win over Chicago State on Tuesday night.
Jourdain Scoubes added 14 points and five rebounds for the Wolverines (15-11), who have defeated the Cougars twice this season.
Utah Valley took a 35-31 halftime lead but fell behind by as many as six points in the second half. After 14 lead changes throughout the game the Wolverines finished on a 7-2 run to seal the win.
David Holston scored a game-high 30 points and had eight assists to lead Chicago State (17-13). He was only 9-of-25 from the field but went 8-of-10 from the free throw line. Carl Montgomery finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while John Cantrell added 12 points for the Cougars.
Utah Valley shot 52 percent from the field in the second half compared to 37 percent shooting by Chicago State.
