LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) – It was a question that seemed to catch Kansas coach Bill Self off guard: How important is it for teams to have fun?
Self had just watched his ninth-ranked Jayhawks have a blast in a blowout win over Texas, and he said it was “huge” for his team to have fun.
Huge enough that the Jayhawks have won two straight in dominant fashion since they started to lighten up. In fact, things have gotten so silly around Lawrence that the team recently filmed its own version of the Harlem Shake dance craze in the locker room.
The Jayhawks play No. 14 Oklahoma State on Wednesday night, with the winner moving into a tie with Kansas State for first place in the Big 12.
