WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) -Frank Hassell scored 19 points and Old Dominion defeated North Carolina-Wilmington 84-65 on Wednesday night.
Hassell paced four other Monarchs (17-9, 10-6 Colonial Athletic Association) in double figures as Marsharee Neely scored 14 points, Kent Bazemore added 13, Keyon Carter chipped in 12 and Gerald Lee tallied 10 points.
After the game was tied at 11, Old Dominion went on an 18-6 run to take a 29-17 lead on Marsharee Neely’s jump shot with 9:03 left in the first half.
The Monarchs led by as many as 27 points, 79-52, on a layup by Ben Finney with 5:22 remaining in the game.
The Seahawks (6-22, 3-13), who have now lost six of their last seven games, were led by Chad Tomko with 18 points. Kevon Moore scored 11 points and Dominique Lacy and Johnny Wolf added 10 each for UNC-Wilmington.
