EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) -Guards Jeremy Goode and Chris Vann combined to score 41 points as Mount St. Mary's beat Quinnipiac 77-70 in a Northeast Conference game Saturday night.
Goode finished with 21 points and six assists while Vann had 20 points and eight rebounds. Markus Mitchell added 12 points and eight boards for the Mountaineers (13-13, 9-6), who have won five of their past seven.
DeMario Anderson, the NEC's second-leading scorer, posted 23 points to keep Quinnipiac (13-12, 9-5) close before fouling out with 1:05 remaining.
The Mount led 45-33 following 8-0 spurt that featured 3-pointers by Vann and Goode, but the Bobcats clawed back, holding the Mountaineers without a field goal for more than five minutes to pull within 59-56 with four minutes left. A quick 8-2 run pushed the advantage back to nine and the Mount went 10-for-12 from the foul line in the final 98 seconds to seal the win.
