WALLINGFORD, Pa. (AP) - An attorney for a suburban Philadelphia woman accused of fatally stabbing her husband - a member of the University of Pennsylvania's 1979 Final Four team - says her client has mental health problems.
Authorities say 55-year-old Matthew White was stabbed Monday in bed at his home in Nether Providence Township. His wife, Maria Rey Garcia-Pellon, is charged with first-degree murder.
Police say Garcia-Pellon told a friend afterward - and later officers - that she had caught her husband viewing child pornography.
Her attorney, Kathy Labrum, tells the Delaware County Daily Times her client has been having mental difficulties. The Associated Press left a message for Labrum on Wednesday.
White, the starting center on Penn's Final Four team, was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers. He also played in Europe.
