GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) -Glenn Andrews scored 21 points in 20 minutes of play as Tulsa rallied from an early second-half deficit and beat East Carolina 66-61 on Wednesday night.
The Pirates were up 33-25 with 18:36 to play after a 3-pointer by James Legan before the Golden Hurricane (12-10, 4-6 Conference USA) went on a tear. Two free throws by Ben Uzoh capped a 12-4 run and tied the score at 37 with 13:52 left.
John Fields broke a tie at 58 and gave East Carolina (8-14, 2-7) the lead with a dunk at 3:34. Andrews tied the game again with two free throws with 2:18 to go, and after Legan missed a 3-point try for the Pirates, Calvin Walls scored on a jumper with 50 seconds to play for a 62-60 Tulsa lead.
Uzoh, who scored 16 points, and Walls, who had 13, added two free throws apiece down the stretch to secure the victory for Tulsa, which shot just 37.3 percent from the field.
Legan had 18 points for the Pirates, who only managed 36.2 percent field goal shooting.
