NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -Ryan Toolson scored a game-high 15 points and Jordan Swarbrick added 13 as Utah Valley defeated New Jersey Institute of Technology 61-40 Thursday night.
Swarbrick scored six points to spark an 8-0 run by Utah Valley over the last 4:40 of the first half and give the Wolverines a 28-15 lead at intermission.
NJIT (1-23) closed to within 10 on a Jheryl Wilson drive with 11:20 to play in the second half to make the score 40-30. Utah Valley (13-9) answered with 9-0 run, featuring five more points by Swarbrick and a three-point play by Brett Ravenberg, to put the game out of reach.
Isaiah Wilkerson led NJIT with 11 points. Wilson had 10. NJIT was just 2-for-17 from 3-point range and shot only 35 percent for the game.
The Wolverines won for the fifth time in their last six games.
