LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) – No. 2 Kansas is so deep, when an injury sidelined the most highly sought player Bill Self ever signed, the Jayhawks seemed to get better.
They are so deep, Missouri shot a torrid 52 percent but couldn’t even stay close because three guys off the Kansas bench went 14 for 17.
They are so deep, Self admits he’s never had so many outstanding players on one team – not even in 2008, when an experienced and well balanced Kansas squad beat Memphis in the NCAA championship game.
When freshman guard Josh Selby gets back, possibly this Saturday against Iowa State, the Jayhawks could probably go 10 deep if they wished.
