CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (AP) -An Ohio University-Chillicothe basketball player died after collapsing during practice. Jonathan Davis, 20, a sophomore from Hampton, Va., fell to the floor Monday evening and was taken to Adena Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, school spokesman Jack Jeffery said. The school was not aware that Davis had any health problems, he said. A message was left with the county coroner. The school suspended men's and women's sports events and practices. Grief counselors were made available for teammates and classmates. The school is about 45 miles south of Columbus and is a branch of Ohio University's main campus in Athens. Memorial arrangements are pending. |
