CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) – A person familiar with the situation says North Carolina point guard Larry Drew II is leaving the Tar Heels program.
Drew has left school and is en route to Atlanta where is father is coach of the NBA’s Hawks, the person told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because UNC had not officially announced Drew’s decision.
Drew, a junior, had lost his starting position to freshman Kendall Marshall four games ago and was averaging 4.7 points and 3.7 assists. Drew’s future college plans are unknown at this time.
