CINCINNATI (AP) – The Bearcats have made another breakthrough in what’s shaping up as their best season in a decade.
Cincinnati moved into the top 10 in the Associated Press’ college basketball poll on Monday, coming in at No. 7. It’s the Bearcats’ highest ranking in 10 years.
They’ve won 14 in a row since a lopsided defeat to crosstown rival Xavier. They’re 21-2 for their best start in 12 years. And they’re in control of the American Athletic Conference with a 10-0 mark, in line to win its first regular season title.
The challenge is to keep the momentum going. The Bearcats are short-handed because of injury, and coach Mick Cronin worries that his front line is starting to wear down.
