EDS: Wagner 74, Mount St. Mary’s 70.
NEW YORK (AP) -Jamal Smith scored 18 points and James Ulrich added 17 points and 14 rebounds and Wagner held off Mount St. Mary’s 74-70 on Thursday night.
Mark Porter had 15 points and seven assists and Llew Radford added 13 points for the Seahawks (13-5, 6-1), who moved into a tie for first place in the Northeast Conference with Quinnipiac.
Jeremy Goode had 22 points for the Mountaineers (8-11, 4-4), while Markus Mitchell had 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Mount St. Mary’s opened the second half with a 17-8 run to tie the game at 43. Wagner retook lead for good with its own 17-8 run.
Radford made two free throws with 23 seconds left to give the Seahawks a 72-68 lead. Goode’s basket made it 72-70, but Ulrich clinched it with two free throws with 11 seconds to go.
