DAVIS, Calif. (AP) – Pacific hit 15 of 21 3-point attempts Saturday en route to an 87-54 victory over UC Davis.
Allen Huddleston opened the game with a 3-pointer and the Tigers (11-8, 3-3 Big West) were off to the races, jumping out to a 23-3 lead in the first 9 minutes. Pacific led 44-14 at halftime, shot 55 percent from the field and outrebounded UC Davis 49-22.
Reserve Jose Rivera made 6 of 8 long-range shots to finish with 19 points for Pacific. Huddleston added 17 points, Nyika Williams and Pat Eveland 12 each, and Terrell Smith 10. Eveland also had 12 rebounds for his first double-double.
Joe Harden had 14 points and Eddie Miller 12 for UC Davis (6-12, 1-5), which shot just 35 percent from the field and lost its fifth straight.
Pacific’s lead never got below 24 points in the second half. Rivera closed the game with back-to-back 3-pointers to give the Tigers their biggest lead of the game.
