CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -North Carolina entered the season with plans on making a solid defense to its NCAA championship. Now the Tar Heels would just settle for a win.
The Tar Heels have lost three straight games for the first time under coach Roy Williams and have already matched their loss total of the previous two seasons combined. They were picked as co-favorites in the Atlantic Coast Conference, but are sitting near the bottom of the league standings.
It’s still early, but the Tar Heels’ injuries and lack of confidence are cause for concern. If things don’t improve soon, North Carolina could be in jeopardy of missing the NCAA tournament.
North Carolina is off until Tuesday, when it travels to face rival North Carolina State.
