VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) – Former NBA coach Larry Brown was a guest visitor at Villanova’s practice.
Brown lives near campus and stopped by practice on Thursday to catch up with the Wildcats and his good friend, coach Jay Wright. Brown has been out of basketball since he parted ways with the Charlotte Bobcats in December.
Brown was a frequent visitor at Villanova games and practices for two seasons after he was fired by the New York Knicks. Wright considers Brown a mentor and friend.
Brown says he’s bored without basketball and would like to coach again. He says he doesn’t want his career to end the way it did in Charlotte. Brown, 70, left with an 88-108 mark for the Bobcats. His 1,327 victories in the ABA and NBA are nine shy of supplanting Don Nelson for the most all-time.
