FARGO, N.D. (AP) -Brett Winkelman scored 22 of his 28 points in the first half as North Dakota State raced out to a big lead and coasted to a 98-71 win over Utah Valley on Tuesday.
The Bison (13-5) shot 59 percent and went 11-for-18 from 3-point range to stretch their winning streak to five games. They have won 10 straight games at home.
Winkelman was 8-for-12 from the field and the line. He was joined in double figures by Ben Woodside with 26 points and Freddy Coleman and Mike Nelson with 11 each.
The Bison made their first five 3-point shots and 11 of their first 13 attempts from the field against the Wolverines (8-8). They were 9-for-12 on 3-point attempts in the first half to take a 61-36 lead. They also went 18-for-25 from the free throw line.
Ryan Toolson led Utah Valley with 27 points. Tyray Petty added 14 and Justin Baker 11 for the Wolverines.
