NEW YORK (AP) – Travis Nichols scored a game-high 15 points and St. Francis Brooklyn dominated both halves of a 70-51 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson Saturday in a Northeast Conference game.
The Terriers (8-9, 4-2), who led the entire way, took a 36-25 lead at halftime and outscored the Knights 34-26 after the break to win easily.
Fairleigh Dickson’s defeat was largely due to a dreadful 3-point performance. The Knights (7-12, 2-4) missed all 16 of their attempts from long range. They went 0 for 12 in the second half. Ben Mockford, meanwhile, scored all 12 of his points for the Terriers on four 3-pointers.
St. Francis Brooklyn, which led by as many as 21 points in the second half, got a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double from Jalen Cannon. The Terriers also outrebounded Fairleigh Dickinson 47-33, 19-11 on the offensive boards.
Melquan Bolding led the Knights with 12 points. Sidney Sanders Jr. added 10.
